BINGHAM — Cody Laweryson earned the save in Game 1 and was the winning pitcher in Game 2 as Valley swept a doubleheader with Vinalhaven/North Haven 4-2 and 4-3, on Tuesday.

Laweryson took over for starting pitcher Luke Malloy in the seventh with the game tied at 3-3, and in bottom of the eighth he singled home pinch runner Gabe Pullen to give the Cavaliers the walk-off win.

In the opener, winning pitcher Dylan Belanger’s fifth-inning double plated Laweryson for the go-ahead run. Belanger allowed one earned run and struck out five in six innings, while Laweryson struck out the side in the seventh to seal the victory for the Cavs.

MCI 2, MT. VIEW 1: A two-run fourth inning proved to be all the Huskies (2-12) needed in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win in Pittsfield.

Paul Dionne led off the rally with a two-out single, stole second and came around to score on a Mitchell Hallee double. Hallee ultimately scored after two straight passed balls.

Austin Tolman struck out six in the win for MCI, while Emmett Shell allowed just four hits in suffering the loss. David Clark led the Mustangs (3-10) with three singles.
