I can hear an unfair and unreasonable Central Maine Power Co. rate increase rumbling down the tracks at us.

As a CMP customer, I’m appalled at the $29 million rate increase requested to the Maine Public Utilities Commission by this foreign-owned energy giant.

As a retired citizen living on a budget and receiving a fixed Social Security income, I am concerned about what pocket the extra money will come out of.

As a Mainer, I am concerned about all our state’s residents who will be adversely affected by this proposed rate increase.

I urge others who share my concerns to contact the Maine Public Utilities Commission now to express their disapproval before the crossing gate comes down and this train wreck goes rumbling by.
