Bowl for Kids’ Sake raises more than $206,000

The final results of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine’s Bowl For Kids’ Sake are in. One of the events was held in the Kennebec Valley May 1-10 and drew 346 teams and 1,749 bowlers, according to a BBBS press release.

Overall, the event raised more than $206,000 to benefit Big/Little matches in Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Penobscot, Somerset and Waldo counties. “This year was our largest Bowl For Kids’ Sake event ever and will help us change more kids’ lives than ever,” says Cathy Hardy, development director for BBBS said in the release. Bowlers in each region who raised $100 or more were automatically entered in the grand prize drawing for that region. The three grand prize winners for Kennebec Valley were: Jennifer Nile, New Balance, Skowhegan. The top individual fundraisers were: first – Jacy Cunningham, Home Depot, Waterville; second – Sheila Turcotte, Central Maine Motors Auto Group; and third – Rob Moore, Central Maine Motors Auto Group.

Honorable Mentions were: Jana McElhanney, KV Federal Credit Union; Sandy Burgess, Kennebec Savings Bank; Marc Cote, Home Depot. Top fundraising teams were: first – Home Depot, Waterville; second – Central Maine Motors Group; and third – Kennebec Savings Bank “Women of Winthrop” (WOW) team.
