ROCKLAND — The Winslow High School baseball team pounded 13 hits, and pitchers Dylan Hapworth and Jake Trask combined for 10 strikeouts as the No. 6 Black Raiders took a 9-1 win over No. 3 Oceanside in the Eastern Class B quarterfinals.

Winslow, now 15-3, will host No. 7 Caribou on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the semis. The Mariners end the season at 12-5.

Winslow took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Alex Berard singled to score Zach Guptill and Trask singled to score Berard.

Ahead 6-1 in the seventh, Winslow scored three runs to break the game open. Trevor Lovely hit two doubles and a single for the Black Raiders, while Guptill and Trask each had three hits. Trask hit three singles for Winslow.

SOFTBALL

NOKOMIS 8, OCEANSIDE 1: The fourth-seeded Warriors made the most of their three hits as they defeated the fifth-seeded Mariners in an Eastern B quarterfinal in Newport.

Nokomis (17-1) plays at No. 1 Gardiner Saturday at 3 p.m.

Sara Packard, Sierra Fortin and Becky Orcutt each scored two runs for Nokomis. The Warriors scored twice in the first inning and four times in the second for a 6-0 lead.

Packard threw a three-hitter with five strikeouts. Alexis Mazurek homered for Oceanside’s only run and Brooke Dugan added two singles.

HERMON 10, WINSLOW 5: Jenna Petrovic had two hits, including a double, for the Black Raiders, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Hawks in an Eastern B quarterfinal game.

Liz Pullen added two hits for Winslow (12-6), including a triple. Paige Veilleux added two singles.

Hailey Perry hit a home run for Hermon (15-2).
