DOVER, N.H. – A woman serving a 10- to 30-year prison sentence for starving a child in her care is facing other charges.

Thirty-five-year-old Christina Thomas of New Durham pleaded guilty this month to perjury, assault and criminal threatening.

Foster’s Daily Democrat reported that she admitted lying during last year’s trial, falsifying physical evidence by withholding one of her sons from testifying and putting a knife to the throat of the boy’s biological mother.

The boy was the son of Thomas’ former friend, who lived at Thomas’ home from 2006 to 2010 with the child. Witnesses testified Thomas appeared to be a primary caretaker for the boy, who was abused and deprived of food.

The 6-year-old boy at one point weighed just 23 pounds.

A sentencing hearing is planned for Tuesday.
