WISCASSET — George Fortin won the spotlighted Outlaw Mini race at Wiscasset Speedway on Saturday.

Fortin passed Matt Moore early for the lead. Jimmy Childs had some mechanical issues after a caution on lap 16, but returned and fought back for second place, edging Ryan Glover, who placed third.

Dan Nessmith earned his first career win in the Super Street event at Wiscasset Speedway.On lap 19, Shawn Austin passed Josh Bailey to take second place.

“It was a pretty good race. I have been changing little things over the past several weeks. It has really paid off, and last time on the track I was in the top five, and tonight I took the win. To come back and do well for two weeks in a row is really good,” Nessmith said.

Chad Binette was the winner in a modified exhibition race. Kamren Knowles earned his first career win in a 25 lap prostock race. Bill Pinkham won the 30 lap prostock feature, after taking the lead on lap 12.

“I think we finally have the car where we want it to be. It feels good to win twice in two weeks,” Pinkham, a former Wiscasset Driver of the Year, said.
