ATKINSON — Police confirm that one person has died and a second was injured in a weekend tractor rollover in Atkinson.
The Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday that 42-year-old contractor Jason Gourley of Guilford went to help a friend move another tractor off a trailer that got a flat on Saturday morning.
During the maneuver, Gourley’s tractor tipped over, rolled down an embankment and landed on top of him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His friend’s wife was injured when she went to help Gourley.
She was flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center where she was listed in fair condition.
Police tell WABI-TV they don’t anticipate charges.
