FARMINGTON — Franklin Memorial Hospital hosted 34 area middle and high school students as a part of its annual Scrub Club program, offered through a grant from Area Health Education Center. This program is designed to ignite an interest in students to consider and explore a career in healthcare.

The program offers a variety of hands-on learning opportunities for students, including suturing, intubation, dental hygiene, emergency medicine, injections, pharmacy, nutrition, and physical activity. New this year was a session about public health and the many career options available in that field.

Scrub Club is held annually during the last week of June. It is open to students entering grades 8–12. For more information about the program or to be added to the mailing list for the 2015 program call 779-2381.
