Chelsea man charged with criminal speeding

OAKLAND — A Chelsea man was summoned for allegedly driving his motorcycle 86 mph in a 45-mph zone Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Jonathan Scott, 44, was clocked at going 41 mph over the speed limit around 12:30 p.m. on Middle Road, said Sgt. Tracey Frost.

Frost said Officer Michael Sayers caught up with Scott and pulled him over while still on Middle Road.

He said Scott was contrite and cooperative with the officer and was summoned on the class E misdemeanor of criminal speeding for exceeding the limit by more than 30 mph.

ARRESTS

IN SOMERSET COUNTY, Wednesday at 10:59 p.m., Joseph Stanley Chambers, 39, of Detroit, was arrested on a warrant.

IN WATERVILLE, Wednesday at 11:15 a.m., Isaac Jacques, 37, a transient, was arrested on charges of violating a protection from abuse order, domestic violence assault, possession of scheduled drugs and stealing drugs.
