AUGUSTA — Multiple residents of the Mayfair neighborhood reported Monday their homes and vehicles were sprayed with mustard.

Residents also reported other vandalism, including a broken glass lawn globe.

At least four Marlboro Avenue residents reported Monday parts of their homes, cars or both were covered in mustard, according to Lt. Chris Read.

At 7:23 a.m. a Marlboro Avenue caller reported their door had a yellow spray on it, which the caller believed to be mustard.

At 8:20 a.m. another caller reported his or her home had mustard on its door, and two other neighbors also said they had mustard on their home’s doors, but didn’t wish to file a police report, Read said.

At 10:25 a.m. Monday, another Marlboro Avenue resident reported the windshield and hood of a car had been covered in mustard.

And, at 1:25 p.m., a Mayfair Street resident reported finding mustard on her vehicle. The caller told police there was no damage, but she had “heard others had been victims of mustard attacks, and wanted us to be aware.”

“People seem to be able to wash it off and get rid of it,” Read said of the mustard.
