Domestic violence suspect in Avon to be sent back to Colorado

A Colorado man wanted in a domestic violence incident was arrested Wednesday in the Franklin County town of Avon and will be sent back to Colorado to face charges.

At 9:19 p.m., police received a report that Nathan Pierce, 53, was being loud and harassing on Rangeley Road in Avon. After arriving, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department deputies learned that Pierce, who had been living in Madrid Township, was wanted in Colorado on a warrant.

Maine police can’t arrest people on out-of-state charges, so Pierce was arrested on the charge of fugitive from justice and will be extradited.
