BELGRADE — The Friends of the Belgrade Public Library will host its 5th annual 5k road race at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at The Belgrade Central School. Proceeds will benefit The Belgrade Library. Last year’s event attracted more than 100 runners and walkers. This year organizaers expect an increase in participation with the addition of the Summer Camp Challenge category inviting area camps to join in the race.
Awards will be presented for the top male and female finalists as well as a gold and silver for both male and female in nine age categories. There will be a camp award for the winning camp of the Summer Camp Challenge.
Participants can register online at RunReg.com. Registration forms are also at belgrade.lib.me.us or friendsofbelgradepubliclibrary.com. Preregistration cost $15. Race day registration cost $20. For more information, call John House at 465-3524.
