SACO — Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick is heading to Maine to support Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud.
Patrick will be in Saco on Monday afternoon for an event with the Democrat challenging Republican Gov. Paul LePage.
Before that, Patrick and Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin, who heads the Democratic Governors Association, are hosting a lunch fundraiser for Michaud at Portland’s Cumberland Club.
Maine Democratic Party Chairman Ben Grant says in a statement that leaders are rallying behind Michaud’s message and are eager to unseat LePage. He says it’s “all hands on deck” to elect a strong Democratic ticket this November.
