A Wilton man was charged with theft after stealing and cashing a $606 check from his former roommate’s mailbox, police said.

Tristan Ridlon, 29, was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of theft, said Chief Heidi Wilcox, of the Wilton Police Department.

Wilcox said Ridlon and the victim were former roommates who had disputes in the past. She said Ridlon took the check from the roommate’s post office box.

Police were not able to recover any of the money, Wilcox said.

Ridlon was charged with class C theft, which is punishable by up to five years’ incarceration and a $5,000 fine.
