Traffic headed in both directions on Interstate 95 will face significant delays this week as crews continue overnight work to replace a bridge in Litchfield.

Maine Turnpike Authority spokeswoman Erin Courtney said 25-minute traffic stops will occur in both directions near mile marker 91 as crews place structural steel at the West Road bridge. The traffic stops are scheduled for Monday through Wednesday. The series of stops will occur each night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Courtney said the work is weather-dependent. Message boards and Highway Advisory Radio, which broadcasts on AM 1610, will be used to keep drivers informed of the stoppages.

“Motorists should prepare for delays or seek alternate travel routes during these stoppages,” Courtney said. “The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this construction.”
