A Winslow man driving a pickup lost control of his vehicle when he swerved to avoid a vehicle he was passing and rolled the truck over several times shortly after noon on Sunday.

Witnesses said Adam Breznkya, 29, driving south on Interstate 95, was attempting to pass a white Jeep Wrangler when the Jeep drifted into Breznyka’s lane, Maine State Trooper Breanne Petrini said in a press release. Breznkya over corrected, lost control and rolled the truck several times at mile 114.

According to Petrini, witnesses said the Jeep stopped immediately after the crash, but then left the scene. A witness followed the Jeep, got the vehicle’s license plate number and turned it over to police.

A short time later police located the Jeep, according to Petrini’s press release, which was operated by Jennifer Beckwith-Pierce, 31, of Rockland. She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury.

Breznyka, who was wearing his seat belt, suffered minor injury.
