PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H. – Rescue crews had a busy night helping hikers on Mount Washington.

On Monday night, they came to the help of 58-year-old Everett Piper of Campton, who suffered an unknown medical emergency while descending the Jewell Trail.

Rescuers carried him about a half mile to the trailhead, then took him to Littleton Regional Hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

At about the same time, rescuers helped 27-year-old Jennifer Rodriguez of Bayonne, New Jersey, who was suffering a diabetic emergency while descending the Tuckerman Ravine Trail. She was carried about 1½ miles to the Appalachian Mountain Club Pinkham Notch Visitors Center, then taken to Androscoggin Valley Regional Hospital early Tuesday. Her condition also wasn’t immediately known.
