LEWISTON — An autopsy shows a 60-year-old Lewiston man, who died after trying to break up a fight in his building, died of a heart attack.
Louis St. Pierre died at a hospital following the apartment house fight on Wednesday night. Police said there was an altercation in the building during which St. Pierre collapsed.
Police had said they are aware St. Pierre had a history of heart problems, but they were awaiting the results of an autopsy.
A spokesman for the Lewiston police says an autopsy shows that St. Pierre died of a heart attack. He told WMTW-TV that the Maine attorney general’s office is handling the investigation and will determine if any charges will be filed.
