SIDNEY — Snow Pond Community Music School will host an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday. The event will showcase the new facilities and give those interested an opportunity to listen, learn and participate in what the school offers. An instrument petting zoo, African drumming demo, theater arts, refreshments and performance by Pineland Suzuki School students are only some of the events planned.
The Music School, located on the campus of Snow Pond Center for the Arts, Route 23, opens its doors to aspiring musicians Sept. 2. The school is the next step in the ongoing expansion of New England Music Camp to a year-round arts education complex serving central Maine. Known as Snow Pond Center for the Arts, the expansion is designed to provide new arts education opportunities for Central Maine youth and adults as well as provide significant economic impacts for the region through new employment and tourism.
