Sen. Angus King recently welcomed back former intern Willie Ellis of Farmingdale, who is participating in the 2014 U.S. Congress-Korean National Assembly Exchange Program sponsored by the Meridian International Center. As part of the program, which is aimed at expanding perspectives of American and Korean young people on the history of U.S.-Korean relations, Ellis introduced fellow participant and South Korean student, Haein Kim, to King. “I’m thrilled to see Willie continue his outstanding work. He was a top-notch intern for me and he’ll be a great ambassador for the United States in this exchange program,” King said in a news relase. Ellis is a graduate of St. Dominic Academy in Auburn and Princeton University. He served as an intern in King’s Washington, D.C. office in the fall of 2013 and then was selected to serve as a White House intern in the spring of 2014.
