Tre Ming recorded three assists in the victory as Thomas got goals from Maranacook grad Dakota Duplissie, London Steede-Jackson, John Flores-McKenna and Max Hansson.

The Terriers (1-2-0) entered the contest following losses to Roger Williams and UMass-Boston on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, in Bristol, R.I. and early on Thomas seemed destined to a similar fate. The home team outshot the Monks 13-4 in the first half, but it was St. Joe’s that took a 1-0 lead into intermission on a Garrett Darnell score. The Terriers responded quickly, though, jumping into the lead on goals from Steede-Jackson and Duplissie before running away with the win.

COLBY 3, MMA 0: Keith Chernin scored two goals to help new head coach Ewan Seabrook win his debut.

Chernin scored the eventual game-winning goal at 39 minutes, 6 seconds of the first half. Chandler Smith also scored for the Mules (1-0-0). MMA dropped to 0-2-0.

Cody Funkhouser made just two saves — both in the first half — to earn the shutout.

COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY

COLBY 9, THOMAS 0: Megan Fortier scored three goals to lead the Mules in a non-conference game at Bernatchez Field in Waterville.

Colby out-shot Thomas 28-4.

Sophomore Abbie Charrier made eight saves in the opening half for the Terriers.
