AUGUSTA — Nancy Foster, assistant professor of Dental Health at the University of Maine at Augusta has been appointed by Gov. Paul LePage to serve as a member of the Maine Board of Dental Examiners.
“I am honored to have been appointed by Governor LePage to the Maine Board of Dental Examiners. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the citizens of Maine in this capacity,” Foster said in a news release.
Foster is a certified dental assistant, expanded functions dental assistant, registered dental hygienist, and has a master of education degree. Foster is a full-time assistant professor of Dental Health on UMA’s Bangor campus, and practices dental hygiene part-time in a periodontal specialty practice in Bangor. She is also the co-author of multiple scientific articles published the Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Clinical Periodontology, and the Journal of Dental Hygiene.
