The political ad season has begun and we are hearing how Paul LePage is “brutally” honest. Let’s examine how brutally honest he really is.

His biography ran in the July 20 Sunday newspaper. In this article, LePage tells the reporter that tuition at Husson College when he attended was $5,000 per year. I attended Husson College the same four years as LePage did, and tuition was never even close to $5,000 per year back then. In fact, tuition costs for each of the four years that we attended were $900, $1,000, $1,150 and $1,450 for a grand total of $4,500 for all four years combined.

With the tuition amounts clearly in error, it makes the veracity of his other claims suspect.
