Creating a Healthy Workplace seminar, offered by the Healthy People of the Kennebec, will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at the Alfond Center for Health.

The Healthy People of the Kennebec’s fall event will focus on leadership, physical activity and healthy eating. Recognizing that the work environment can highly influence these factors HPKV has put together a half-day program geared to inform employers, business owners, and organizational leadership.

Three local CEO’s Tim Downing, president of Duratherm Window; Chuck Hays, CEO of MaineGeneral Health; and Wick Johnson, president of Kennebec Technologies, are scheduled to speak. Dr. Tory Rogers, director of Let’s Go!, and leader in the field of childhood prevention, also will talk, as well as Melanie Cooper, human resources manager, JS McCarthy Printers. The event will also feature a demonstration of healthy snacks and lunch preparation tips in the MaineGeneral Teaching Kitchen with Registered Dietician, Shelley Goraj.

The $35 registration fee includes a healthy lunch. Pre-registration is required. For information or to register, contact Phil DiRusso, Workplace Health Wellness coordinator, at 621-8809 or Philip.dirusso@mainegeneral.org.
