PITTSFIELD — Nick Dufor’s cross into the box with five minutes remaining caromed off an MCI player and into the back of the net to give Waterville the victory over Maine Central Institute Saturday.

The Huskies (1-4-0) put Waterville in a 2-0 hole early in the second half, as River Massey opened the second frame with a goal off an assist from Hunter Wintles.

The Purple Panthers responded at about the midway point of the second half though, as Justin Wentworth cut the deficit in half with a score.

Fernandon Ramiro then tied the game for the Panthers off an assist from Michael Olivera with a little less than 10 minutes remaining, setting the table for Dufor’s game-winner.

Liam Edwards made 10 saves for Waterville (4-1-0). Slade Emery scored the first half’s lone goal off a penalty kick for MCI.

ERSKINE 1, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Trevor Hubbard scored off assists from Ryan Rodrigue and Luke Peabody as the Eagles earned a tie with the Windjammers on Friday.

Caleb Barden, Pheonix Throckmorton, Sam Newcombe and Josh Reed each had strong games defensively in helping preserve the tie for Erskine (4-0-1).

TEMPLE 3, HIGHVIEW 0: Joey Rossingol scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Temple to the win in Charleston.

Selam Heinrich had the other Temple (2-3-0) goal, while T.J. Sheldon made 12 saves in net for Highview.

FIELD HOCKEY

MCI 4, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Kali Doiron scored two goals and April McAlpine had two assists, as the Huskies scored twice in the final 12 minutes to top the Windjammers

After a scoreless first half, MCI took leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but Camden tied the score both times. MCI’s Addi Williams then scored with 11:28 to go to for a 3-2 lead, and Doiron added an insurance goal with 6:09 left.

Cassie Miller had the other goal for MCI (4-3). Allison Hughes added an assist. Mikayla Carr stopped five shots.

Meg Dowd and Karrah York had the goals for Camden (2-4). Mariah Harris made nine saves.

MOUNT VIEW 7, WATERVILLE 0: Reanna Boulay scored three goals as the Mustangs defeated the Purple Panthers in Waterville.

Austyn Thomas added a goal and an assist for Mt. View (3-2-2). Kersey Boulay, Megan Mikel, and Risa Fox each had one goal for the Mustangs.

Coby Dangler made 14 saves and Caitlin White had nine for Waterville (0-7).

ERSKINE 3, LINCOLN 1: Nicole Wilson scored a pair of goals to helps power the Erskine Eagles to the win in South China.

Christina Hodgins had a goal and an assist for Erskine (4-2-1), while Audrey Jordan also scored a goal.

Sophie Carbonneau scored the lone Lincoln (4-2-1) goal off an assist from Maggie Weiss.

MT. BLUE 4, HAMPDEN 1: Senior captains Taylor Hollingdale and Victoria Newbill scored early goals to get the Cougars off to a fast start in their win in Farmington.

Jenna Bullen and Jordyn Lawrence also scored goals for Mt. Blue (4-3-0), while Hannah LeClair and Samantha Ellis each chipped in with assists.

SKOWHEGAN 6, CONY 2: Renee Wright scored three goals and assisted on another to pace the Indians to the victory Friday.

Brooke Michonski, Haley Thebarge and Cassidy Clement also had goals for Skowhegan (6-1-0), which led 3-1 at halftime.

Delaney Keithley and Rebecca Coniff accounted for the two Cony (4-3-0) scores, while Madeline Lewis made 19 saves in goal.

GIRLS SOCCER

WATERVILLE 5, MCI 0: The Purple Panthers kept their unblemished record intact with a win over the Huskies.

Jordan Jabar had two goals for Waterville (5-0-0), while Lydia Roy tallied three assists. Pilar Elias, Sarah Shoulta and Mackenzie St. Pierre also scored goals for the Panthers.

Gabrielle Pyles made 17 saves for MCI (3-2-0).

RICHMOND 13. VALLEY 0: Kelsea Anair scored six goals to lead the Bobcats past the Cavaliers in Bingham Friday.

Autumn Acord had a hat trick for Richmond (5-0-0), while Meranda Martin and Kelsie Obi scored two goals each.

Samantha Watts made 13 saves for Valley (0-4-0).
