I met Rebecca Cornell du Houx, an Augusta Democrat seeking to represent Senate District 15, four years ago. She was working as a case manager in the mental health system. I had been advised that getting mental health services would help me, and I blossomed with Rebecca’s help and guidance.

When I began services, I had to have my mother with me during meetings. After a rocky school life, I trusted only family.

After working with Rebecca, I accomplished more and began to challenge myself.

By the time she decided to run for state Senate, I was running my own meetings, going to college, running my own household and expanding my horizons.

She is excellent example of what a senator should be. She is hard working, articulate, humble, and works to find a solution to the problem at hand.
