Alan Tibbetts, Democrat from Sidney, is running to represent the towns of Sidney and Oakland, District 77. I’ve always been impressed by his knowledge in a number of subjects but when I started looking into his position on health care I understood how forward-looking his thinking was. Alan supports expanding Medicare. This will make affordable health care available to 60,000 more Maine people, many of them working at one or more part-time minimum-wage jobs trying to afford the basic needs of life. But Alan sees expanding Medicare as just the beginning of a solution. Alan believes that we need to look further into the current health care system and the factors that control it to find the real fixes that will reduce the cost of medical care for everyone. We need people like Alan in the Legislature to move Maine forward. Visit www.alantibbetts.net to find out more about his ideas.
