Mike Dusoe of Waterville recently received his new square dance caller microphone cord from Grace Tudan and Al Hipkins, members of the Four Corners Association. Dusoe has been mentored by callers of the Four Corners Association for the past year and has received other equipment, according to a news release.

The association is actively recruiting and training new square dance callers. One element of the association’s mission is to help new callers get properly equipped. Much of the equipment is unique, specialized and expensive. The microphone cable given to Dusoe has extra controls in the handle for controlling music volume without changing voice volume.

Last year, the FCA held two fund-raising dances to build an equipment and education scholarship fund for callers. Additionally, the FCA holds regular caller workshops. The next two workshops and fund-raising dances will be held on Nov, 22 and Jan. 10. For more information about these workshops or the association, visit the website at http://www.fourcornersassociation.us/.

Four Corners Association exists to foster a square dance environment which is welcoming and integrating to new dancers. FCA believes that callers are the primary motivators of this Activity and should always serve to keep the Activity open and relevant.
