WATERVILLE — Heating 101 is set for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the City of Waterville Council Chambers.

The Sustain Mid Maine Coalition has collaborated with Kennebec Valley Community College to help residents navigate the available options.

Vaughan Woodruff will present the one-hour workshop that will explore the various ways to heat homes and water. Woodruff serves as adjunct faculty at KVCC, is a trained engineer, and owns a Pittsfield-based business that works to determine the most cost-effective energy options for home and business.

The workshop will focus on the common heating dilemmas faced by Maine homeowners, such as switching from oil to another fuel; what you can do if you only have $100; how to keep the boiler from running all summer long. Heat pumps in the home, and the most effective way to heat water.
