On Alan Tibbetts website, www.alantibbetts.net, he explains “Why I am running.” It’s an important read for all of us in Sidney and Oakland who will vote for the District 77 representative.
Let me now answer the question, “Why I am voting for Alan Tibbetts.”
Alan, a Democrat from Sidney, and I are registered in different political parties and have been throughout our careers in the Maine National Guard, but both see ourselves as moderates. I have never regarded party affiliation as the primary consideration in casting my vote but I vote for candidates who are willing to listen to the discussion on any given issue and decide what serves the best interest of their constituents.
After decades of serving side by side with Alan, I know he will not make the Democratic decision or Republican decision, but will make the best decision for District 77 and Maine.
