presentation set

SKOWHEGAN — A presentation exploring the role of money in politics in Maine’s elections will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at the Skowhegan Free Public Library. A representative from the non-partisan organization Maine Citizens for Clean Elections., BJ McCollister, will lead the program.

McCollister and Maine Citizens for Clean Elections believe the flow of large, special-interest money in campaigns is distorting the election process and diminishing the role of voters. They say it is having a detrimental influence in upcoming state and federal legislation.
