Two Waterville women who were wanted for questioning in connection with a stabbing in China are in custody.
Tiffany Glidden, 20, turned herself in at the Waterville Police Department Wednesday night and was taken to the Kennebec County jail, where she is being held on charges not related to the stabbing, according to a press release from Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

McCausland said that the other woman wanted in connection with the stabbing, 23-year-old Carissa Butkewicz, was arrested by Maine State Police troopers Thursday afternoon. She was charged with a probation violation and also taken to the county jail.
The stabbing victim, Katheryn Hopkins, 24, is improving at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, police said. Hopkins had previously been listed in critical condition. She was listed in fair condition Thursday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Authorities said the stabbing took place off Neck Road in China.
Butkewicz has previously been convicted of trafficking in scheduled drugs in Waterville, according to 2013 Superior Court records. She received a four-year jail sentence, all but four months suspended, three years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $400 fine and $140 restitution.
