OTISFIELD — Maine State Police say the driver of a pickup truck that crashed in Otisville, ripping the cab off the truck, twisting the frame, and spreading debris over 50 to 60 yards, is lucky to be alive.
The driver, whose name was not released, dragged himself from the cab and was talking and alert when authorities arrived at the scene on a one-lane dirt road at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The man in his 40s, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital with facial lacerations and other injuries not considered life-threatening.
Several hunters discovered the crash.
Trooper John Russell tells the Sun Journal the truck swerved into a ditch, struck a low stone wall, rolled several times and landed on the road.
The crash remains under investigation.
