READFIELD — Quilters from the Loose Threads chapter of the Pine Tree Quilters Guild make quilts for families in the Maranacook area who have lost their homes to fire, according to a press release from the guild.
The organization held a quilt raffle this summer. The winner was Jean Allen of Mount Vernon who said in the release she bought her ticket primarily to help the cause. She donated the quilt to a family in need. Raffle proceeds will be used to buy quilting materials.
The chapter meets twice a month at the Maranacook Professional Development Center on North Road. New members are welcome. For more information, call Joan Mohlar at 685-4212.
