FAIRFIELD — After a few near-misses, Lawrence picked up its first win of the season with a 57-45 victory over Mt. Blue in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A boys basketball action Tuesday night.

Lawrence, which has lost two different games by two points this season, outscored the Cougars 25-14 in the fourth quarter. Seth Powers scored a game-high 18 points for the Bulldogs (1-5).

Mason Cooper added 15 points and JT Nutting scored 12 for Lawrence. Mt. Blue (1-5) was led by Zack Mittlestadt, with 12 points.

VALLEY 75, GREENVILLE 30: Collin Miller scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers past the Lakers in Greenville.

Cody Laweryson had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Valley (5-1). Cale Beane added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Nick Foley scored 21 points for Greenville (3-3).

GARDINER 64, WATERVILLE 49: Seth McFarland scored 18 points and collected 10 rebounds to lead Gardiner to a road win Friday at Waterville.

Jordan Lamb added 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals for the Tigers (5-1), while Brad Weston chipped in with 16 points and seven boards. Justin Kornsey led the Purple Panthers (0-6) with a career-high 14 points on 6-for-7 shooting, while Demetrius Ramirez added 10 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

VALLEY 37, GREENVILLE 17: Hallie Miller scored 16 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to a win over the Lakers in Greenville.

Kyla White added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Valley (4-3).

Brooke Noyes scored five points for Greenville (2-3).

HALL-DALE 57, MADISON 55, OT: Dani Sweet and Nicole Pelletier each scored 14 points to lead the Hall-Dale to the overtime win in Madison.

Kayla Johnson added 11 points for Hall-Dale (3-3), which outscored Madison (4-3) 34-25 in the second half and overtime.

Madison was led by Kayla Bess and Aly LeBlanc with 16 points apiece.
