WAYNE — Paul Johnson will give a slide show presentation on Maine wildflowers at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Cary Memorial Library. Prior to retiring in 2005, Johnson worked as a fishery biologist for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in the Moosehead Lake Region, according to a news release from the library. In his travels throughout the region he was intrigued by the diversity of plant and animal life found in the Maine Woods. Over the years he attempted to capture in photographs the things he saw to share them with others. His program will highlight some common, as well as some not so common, wildflowers found in Maine’s woodlands, wetlands, and open lands. The snow date is Jan. 24.
