AUGUSTA — A 56-year-old city woman known as “Grandma” Loretta Barton was arrested early Thursday on suspicion of drug trafficking, but was freed Friday after the district attorney’s office declined to prosecute any charges now.

Barton was arrested after police executed a search warrant Thursday at her State Street apartment and was held overnight at the Kennebec County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
