We are a small business in downtown Waterville, and are landlords with seven downtown rental units.

Perhaps we are not as farsighted as some about the intersection at the end of Main Street and Water Street. Common sense tells us to install a lighting system that stops all traffic to allow pedestrians to cross this busy intersection, then return to its normal timing cycle.

The cost of doing this should be very small compared to installing a roundabout.

It seems to use that trying this approach for a short time would be the best use of limited tax dollars and make common sense.
