The annual Wiscasset High School Alumni banquet will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 6, in the Wiscasset High School gymnasium. The dinner and program is set for 6 p.m. Sarah’s Cafe of Wiscasset will serve dinner as a buffet. Dinner cost $18 per person by advance reservation only, according to a news release.
Alumni historians will make historical displays. School administrators, officers of the alumni association, graduating class president and current visiting AFS students, will make speeches. Scholarships will be announced, and a roll call of all classes in attendance will take place with short stories from representatives of the 25- and 50-year classes. Multi-generation graduates with graduating seniors will be recognized.
Scholarship funds are extremely strained because of low interest rates during the past few years, according to the release. The executive committee is encouraging everyone to consider donating to one of the funds.
This year will be 114th year of this annual alumni banquet.
The association invites any Wiscasset graduate, General Educational Development diploma recipient or graduate of another high school, who attended Wiscasset High School or Wiscasset Academy for at least two years to join the Alumni Association. Dues are $5 per year. Those who have not paid dues in more than two years can pay just $10 and be in good standing.
All graduates and their guests are welcome.
