NEWCASTLE — The Winslow girls lacrosse team picked up its first win as a varsity program Thursday with an 11-7 victory over Lincoln Academy in its season opener.

Cassey Roderick and Mackenzie Winslow led the Black Raiders with four and three goals, respectively, while Sarah Stevens scored twice. Heather Kervin and Sabrina Jandreau also scored goals for Winslow and Harley Fitch made 12 saves in goal.

Ashlie Mason and Jess Fields both had hat tricks for Lincoln (1-1).

MESSALONSKEE 12, MORSE 9: Nathalie St. Pierre’s six goals helped the Eagles outlast the Shipbuilders in Bath.

Lydia Dexter finished with a hat trick for Messalonskee (2-0), Lauren Pickett added two goals and Ally Turner scored once. Sydni Collier made four saves in goal for the Eagles.

Maddy Olsen, Sophie and Nora Sreeden each had a pair of goals for Morse (0-1).

ERSKINE 6, EDWARD LITTLE 5: Michelle Lemelin scored four goals to lead the Eagles (1-1) to the win. Kayley Hinds and Christina Hodgkins had the other goals. Mallorie Weaver made 11 saves. Danielle Gagne led the Eddies with three goals.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

MAINE 18, LAFAYETTE 10: The Black Bears came back twice from four or more runs down to earn the non-conference win in Eaton, Pa.

Maine (17-22) set a school record for doubles with nine in the game. Luke Morrill and Kevin Stypulkowski each had two doubles while Sam Balzano, Brett Chappell, Brian Doran, Brenden Geary and Shane Bussey had one apiece. Jeff Gelinas earned the win, improving to 3-1 for the season.

Lafayette falls to 11-24-1.
