MONMOUTH — Freshman Emily Chasse pitched a no-hitter as the Monmouth softball team shut out St. Dominic 12-0 in a Mountain Valley Conference game Monday afternoon.

Chasse walked two and struck out 10 as Monmouth improved to 4-4.

Tia Day drew three walks and scored three runs for the Mustangs. Madi Neal invoked the 12-run rule with an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth inning.

St. Dominic dropped to 1-7.

GARDINER 19, MORSE 5: Winning pitcher Kristal Smith doubled and homered to lead the Tigers in Gardiner.

The Tigers (8-0) also had two players — Bri Brochu and Lilly Chepke — steal home. Mikayla Shaw had a double, a single and drove in two runs.

Morse dropped to 3-5.

OAK HILL 8, WINTHROP 0: Makayla Nadeau struck out 11, walked one and allowed just three hits in the Raiders’ win over the Ramblers in Winthrop.

Kayla Veilleux had a pair of singles for Oak Hill (5-3), which took advantage of six Rambler errors.

Kayleigh Oberg had a triple for Winthrop (1-6).

MESSALONSKEE 7, HAMPDEN 1: Kirsten Pelletier fired a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Eagles prevailed in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game in Hampden.

Madisyn Charest and Kristy Prelgovisk each had two singles for Messalonskee (6-2).

Hampden fell to 2-6.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 4, ERSKINE 2: Grace Ryan had three hits, including two doubles, as the Phoenix edged the Eagles in Jay.

Winning pitcher Emily Keene gave up five hits in the win. Spruce Mountain improved to 3-5.

Avery Bond singled twice for Erskine (5-3).

HALL-DALE 35, WISCASSET 1, 5 innings: Olivia Maynard tossed a two-hitter while striking out eight and walking one as the Bulldogs throttled the Wolverines in Farmingdale.

Eva Shepherd clubbed a pair of doubles for Hall-Dale (7-1), while Nicole Bodge, Kendra Burgess and Justine Drappeau each had multiple hits.

Tylan Onorato and Kayla Gordon had the two hits for Wiscasset (1-7).

BASEBALL

MESSALONSKEE 6, HAMPDEN 3: Nick Mayo drove in a pair of runs and Josh Joy pitched six strong innings, allowing seven hits and striking out five, as Messalonskee rolled to the KVAC A victory.

The Eagles (7-1) stole six bases, including two by Zach Mathieu.

Hampden dropped to 2-6.

CONY 5, SKOWHEGAN 4: Tayler Carrier singled in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Rams to the KVAC A win in Augusta.

Spencer Buck tripled in the seventh to tie the game for Cony (5-3).

Mike Berry had two hits, including a double, for Skowhegan (2-6).

HALL-DALE 2, WISCASSET 1: Brian Allen had a double and recorded the save to lead the Bulldogs over the Wolverines in Farmingdale.

Dean Jackman picked up the win on the mound for Hall-Dale (5-3).

Logan Orr had two singles for Wiscasset (2-6).

ERSKINE 8, SPRUCE MTN. 3: Erskine scored three times in the fourth inning to break a 3-3 tie and pulled away for a win over Spruce Mountain in Livermore Falls.

Ryan Rodrigue, Cody Beaudoin and Andrew Browne cracked two hits apiece for the Eagles (4-4). Rodrigue had a triple, Beaudoin and Browne a double apiece, and Tyler Bailey added a double. Beaudoin also picked up the win on the mound with six solid innings. Noah Preble went 3-for-3 to lead the Phoenix (2-6).

WINTHROP 7, OAK HILL 4: Ben Allen and Ben Caprara each went 2-for-3 to lead the Ramblers, who scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull out the MVC win in Winthrop.

Adam Merrill and Caleb Morrison each went 2-for-3 for Oak Hill (4-4). Winthrop improved to 6-1.

GARDINER 11, MORSE 7: The Tigers piled up 13 hits as they outlasted the Shipbuilders in Gardiner.

Nic Berube singled twice and doubled, and also earned the win on the mound for Gardiner (6-2). Eli Fish, Brady Smith, and Hunter Chasse added two hits apiece for the Tigers (6-2).

Morse is 3-5.

BOYS LACROSSE

ERSKINE 7, LAWRENCE 6: Trever Browne scored the go-ahead goal with less than five minutes remaining and the Eagles managed to hold on for the win.

Browne finished with a hat trick for Erskine (2-5), while Josh Reed and Tyler Rollins each scored twice. Jake Church made 10 saves in goal.

Gunner McAllister had three goals to pace Lawrence (1-7), Connor Martin netted two goals and Zack Lizotte scored once. Derick Dumont made 11 saves in net.

MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 15, WINSLOW 2: Denver Cram poured in six goals and assisted on four others in the Hawks’ win over the Black Raiders at Thomas College.

Ty Smith added four goals and two assists for Maranacook/Winthrop (6-1), while James Canwell had two goals and two assists.

David Selwood and Jacob Houghton each scored once for Winslow (3-2).

GARDINER 14, WINDHAM 4: Josh Caldwell tallied six goals as Gardiner opened up an 8-1 halftime lead and never looked back to defeat Windham at Hoch Field.

Adrian Heath added three goals and Walker Norton two for the Tigers (5-1), while Noah Keene made six saves in net. Zach Colwell had two goals and Josh Dion made 16 saves for Windham (4-1).
