Laura Benedict was honored as the 2014 Citizen of the Year Friday, May 8, by the Kennebec Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 599, Augusta.
Benedict, owner of The Red Barn in Augusta, was selected for her selfless dedication to serving her community and holding to the highest ideals of the United States Marine Corps League, according to a news release from the detachment.
