MONMOUTH — Chase Malloy struck out eight batters and walked one to lead the Madison baseball team to a 4-0 win over Monmouth in a Mountain Valley Conference game Monday.

Malloy added a triple at the plate for the Bulldogs (5-6). Ryan Emery had a double and single for Madison.

Tom Small had two singles for the Mustangs (8-3).

BREWER 6, MT. BLUE 0: Evan Riva pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out eight, to lead the Witches to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A victory in Farmington.

Logan Rogerson, Michael Grimble and Alex Brooks each doubled for Mt. Blue (8-3).

Anthony Franchetti had the lone Mt. Blue (5-6) hit, a single in the fifth inning.

EDWARD LITTLE 4, SKOWHEGAN 0: Dylan Blanchet smacked a double, but it wasn’t enough for the Indians, who fell to the Red Eddies in Skowhegan.

Nathan Morris had two singles for Skowhegan (3-8).

Luke Sterling had a double for Edward Little (8-3).

NOKOMIS 4, MCI 2: Noah Kershner had three hits and drove in a run for the Warriors in the KVAC B win in Newport.

Randy Upton drove in two runs for Nokomis (3-8). Josh Perry had two hits and earned the win for the Warriors.

Pedro Matos had two hits, including a triple, for MCI (3-8).

WINTHROP 9, CARRABEC 7: Matt Sekerak had two hits and picked up the win on the mound as Winthrop held on to beat Carrabec in an MVC matchup.

Mario Meucci and Cabot Lancaster also had two hits for Winthrop (7-2), while Ben Allen had a two-run double. Chris Miller notched three hits while Dustin Crawford had two hits and drove in three runs for Carrabec (6-5).

ERSKINE 7, MEDOMAK VALLEY 4: Caleb Cummings ripped two hits and drove in two runs as Erskine notched a KVAC win over Medomak.

Dylan Presby picked up the win on the mound for the Eagles (7-4). Ollie Brown had a double for the Panthers (4-7).

BRUNSWICK 2, LAWRENCE 0: Charlie Lowell gave up four hits to earn the shutout in KVAC A play in Fairfield.

Lowell also had two hits and drove in a run for Brunswick (6-5). J.T. Nutting gave up six hits to go with two walks and four strikeouts for Lawrence (2-9).

SOFTBALL

MADISON 13, MONMOUTH 2: Kayla Bess went 3-for-5 and drove in two runs to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win in Monmouth. Winning pitcher Madeline Wood and Whitney Bess also drove in a pair of runs for the Bulldogs

Wood pitched six strong innings, striking out six and allowing just two hits, to earn the victory.

Monmouth dropped to 5-5.

EDWARD LITTLE 6, SKOWHEGAN 1: Hannah Smith had two doubles and Sarah Hammond pitched a complete game to lead the Red Eddies to the KVAC A win in Skowhegan. Hammond struck out 11 and allowed five hits.

Eliza Bedard had a single and a double to pace the Indians (8-3).

ERSKINE 9, MEDOMAK 5: Taylor McLaggan had a single and drove in four runs to lead the Eagles to the Eastern B victory in South China. Amber Grady had two singles and drove in three runs for Erskine (7-4) as well.

Hannah Watmough had two doubles to lead the Panthers (4-7).

CARRABEC 20, WINTHROP 7: Baylee Atwood homered and singled to lead Carrabec’s 24-hit attack in an MVC slugfest.

Lexi Cowan added a triple for the Cobras (7-4). Kayleigh Oberg homered for the Ramblers (1-8).

BOYS LACROSSE

OAK HILL 9, ERSKINE 6: Brendon Tervo scored four goals to pace the Raiders past the Eagles.

Matt Gilbert scored twice for Oak Hill (3-4), while Steven Gilbert, Kyle Flaherty and Jacob Greenwood also chipped in with goals.

Trever Browne had a hat trick for Erskine (2-7), while Tyler Rollins, Caleb Tyler and Max Pacholsky each scored once.
