A Connecticut woman who had been missing since Saturday night was found dead Monday afternoon in Ogunquit, the victim of an apparent suicide, Ogunquit police said in a news release.
The news release identified the victim as Kristen Daigle, 43, who had been vacationing in Maine. She was reported missing around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Sgt. Mike Faia said Daigle’s body was found around 4:40 p.m. Monday on Route 1 near the Wells town line, near where she was last seen.
Ogunquit police had sought the public’s help in finding the woman, and thanked those who provided pictures and dozens of tips.
The police department said on its Facebook page, “If you feel your life is not worth living, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). The call is free and confidential and crisis workers are there 24/7 to assist you.”
