A Memorial Day ceremony, in association with the U.S. Army Honor Guard, 3rd Maine Reenactors and the Maine Cemetery Volunteers, is planned for 1 p.m. Monday, May 25, at Riverside Cemetery, 596 Togus Road, in Chelsea.

Forty-four Civil War veterans will be honored, according to a news release from the Maine Cemetery Volunteers.

The program will include welcome and introduction, a brief history, reading of the roll, funeral service and prayer with the Rev. Thomas Farrar, military honor guard, singing of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” 3rd Maine, Co. A musket salute, Taps and closing cannon salute.
