Vassalboro Friends Meeting (Quakers) will sponsor an illustrated presentation about Friends House Moscow at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 29, WHERE. The Friends House Moscow is a center in the Russian capital that promotes peacemaking, social action, care for the needy, assistance to refugees, alternatives to violence programs, healing for those divided by the Ukraine-Russia conflict, and the development of a culture of voluntary social work, according to a news release from Friends group.

Julie Harlow, head of the USA support group for Friends House Moscow, will present the program. The center was opened in 1996, after the fall of the Soviet Union, and is run by an international board of members from several countries.
