SKOWHEGAN — Kristy Prelgovisk’s home run in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Messalonskee softball team a 3-2 win over Skowhegan in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Friday in Oakland.

Eliza Bedard homered for the Indians (8-5). Kirsten Pelletier struck out 14 in the win for Messalonskee (11-2).

Ashley Alward fanned 13 hitters for Skowhegan.

DIRIGO 5, CARRABEC 1: Sam LeBeau had three hits and an RBI at the plate and struck out six but it wasn’t enough as the Cobras fell to the Cougars in a Mountain Valley Conference game.

LeBeau finished with an RBI double and two singles for Carrabec (8-5). She allowed only four hits in the circle for the tough-luck loss. Lexie Cowan added two singles.

Emma Lueders led Dirigo (9-4) with a double and a single while Gabby Scott had two singles.

LINCOLN 1, ERSKINE 0: Lincoln scored the game’s lone run in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the KVAC B pitcher’s duel.

With the win, Lincoln improved to 12-0. Mallory Chamberlain gave up two hits in the loss for Erskine (7-5).

MT. BLUE 10, BRUNSWICK 4: The Cougars scored nine runs in the first two innings and coasted to the KVAC win in Farmington.

Rachelle Bator’s two-run single was a key first inning hit for Mt. Blue (5-8). Addie Brinkman had two hits for the Cougars, while Taylor Burke scattered seven hits for the win.

Ashley Howe and Gianna Gaudet each doubled for Brunswick (1-12).

RICHMOND 14, RANGELEY 0, 5 innings: Meranda Martin had a triple, a single and an RBI to lead the Bobcats to the East/West Conference win in Rangeley.

Martin also picked up the win, allowing just two singles. Camryn Hurley added two singles and three RBIs for Richmond (11-0).

Natalie Brooks and Celia Philbrook each singled for Rangeley (4-4).

WINSLOW 19, MARANACOOK 7: Winslow pounded out 20 hits to defeat Maranacook in a KVAC matchup in Readfield.

Brooke Haskell had a triple and two singles and drove in five runs to lead the Black Raiders (10-2), while Hillary Libby tripled twice, singled and drove in two. Hayley Pottle added three singles, two RBIs and scored three times. Tabie Tlumac had two hits and drove in a run for the Black Bears (4-8).

BASEBALL

MESSALONSKEE 15, SKOWHEGAN 0, 5 innings: Jake Dexter had three hits — including two doubles — to lead the Eagles to a KVAC A win over the Indians in Oakland.

Jonathan Wilkie added two doubles for Messalonskee (11-2). Trevor Gettig, Jared Cunningham and Zach Mathieu each added two singles.

Dylan Blanchet smacked a double for Skowhegan (3-10). Mike Berry had two singles.

MT. BLUE 5, BRUNSWICK 2: Colton Lawrence and Thomas Wing had two doubles apiece to lead the Cougars to a KVAC A win over the Dragons in Farmington.

Evan Roberts struck out six batters to earn the win on the mound for Mt. Blue (7-6).

Josh Goddard had a double for Brunswick (6-7).

MADISON 16, MT. ABRAM 4: Chase Malloy had four hits and drove in four runs as the Bulldogs took the MVC win in Madison.

Cody Soucier had a pair of hits for Madison (6-7) and drove in three runs. Evan Bess had two hits and two RBIs for the Bulldogs.

Hunter York had two hits for Mt. Abram (2-11).

DIRIGO 6, CARRABEC 0: Kaine Hutchins pitched a no-hitter, a walk away from a perfect game, to lead the Cougars to the MVC win.

Hutchins struck out seven and walked one. He was also the difference at the plate with three singles and an RBI for Dirigo (12-1).

Carrabec falls to 6-7.

ERSKINE 6, LINCOLN 1: Ryan Rodrigue retired 15 of the final 16 Lincoln hitters en route to a no-hitter in Newcastle.

Rodrigue struck out nine and walked three in seven innings and also helped his own cause with a double. Zack Isbell went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the Eagles (8-4) while Nick Turcotte added two hits and two RBIs.

RICHMOND 15, RANGELEY 1, 5 innings: Cameron Emmons smacked a double at the plate and earned the win on the mound for the Bobcats in a win over the Lakers in Rangeley.

Emmons struck out 10 batters for Richmond (11-1). Mike Stewart had three hits, while Brendan Emmons hit a double.

Ricky Thompson hit a home run and a double for Rangeley (1-7).

WATERVILLE 9, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: AJ Godin hit a home run, doubled and drove in two runs to help Waterville take the KVAC B win.

On the mound, Godin allowed just three hits and two walks with five strikeouts for the win. Dalton Wood, Cam Gardiner, Dan Pooler and Andrew Rodrigue each had two hits for Waterville (8-4).

Spruce Mountain is 2-10.

BOYS LACROSSE

WINSLOW 14, LAWRENCE 4: Jimmy Fowler scored five goals to lead the Black Raiders to a win over the Bulldogs in Lawrence.

David Selwood added three goals for Winslow (6-3).

Gunner McAllister and Nick Denis each scored two goals for Lawrence (1-9).
