SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan softball team scored six runs in the second inning, but needed a run in the bottom of the seventh to take a 7-6 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win over Mt. Blue.

Julia Steeves reached on a walk to start the rally for the Indians (9-5), went first-to-third on a sacrifice bunt from Montana Soucier and scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly to center field by Bonnie-Jane Aiken.

The walk-off came only after Mt. Blue (5-9) had tied the game in the top half of the inning when Addie Brinkman and Rachelle Bator scored on a single from Kayleigh Fontaine.

MESSALONSKEE 5, MT. ARARAT 0: Kristy Prelgovisk had a double and two singles to lead Messalonskee to the KVAC A victory. Kirsten Pelletier struck out 11 and walked just one to earn the victory. She allowed just three hits. Hannah Duperry had a double for Messalonskee (12-2).

Mt. Ararat dropped to 6-8.

CAMDEN HILLS 2, ERSKINE 0: The Windjammers scored a run in the first inning and another in the fourth to take the KVAC B pitchers’ duel in Rockport.

Samantha Leighton gave up three hits for the shutout win for Camden Hills (5-9). Mallory Chamberlain had two singles for Erskine (8-6).

LAWRENCE 13, LEWISTON 1, 6 innings: Emily McLean had two singles and Lauren Lambert had a single and a double to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC A victory in Fairfield. Paige Belanger had a single and a double as well for Lawrence (5-10).

Lewiston dropped to 0-15.

MCI 12, WATERVILLE 8: The Huskies pounded out 12 hits to take the KVAC B win in Pittsfield, their first victory of the season.

Kali Doiron and Eva Bickford each hit a single and a double for MCI (1-13). Caroline Vigue and Mikayla Carr added two hits apiece for the Huskies.

Madison Clowes singled and doubled for Waterville (1-13).

MT. ABRAM 12, WINTHROP 0, 5 innings: Olivia Ryan gave up three hits, walked one and struck out two to lead the Roadrunners to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Salem on Tuesday.

Ryan also had three hits for Mt. Abram (6-8). Winthrop is 2-11.

BASEBALL

SKOWHEGAN 5, MT. BLUE 3: Nathan Morris struck out eight and allowed just two hits to help Skowhegan take the KVAC A win at home.

Brendan Curran and Morris each had two hits for the Indians (4-10). Colton Lawrence doubled for Mt. Blue (7-8).

LAWRENCE 6, LEWISTON 2: Derek Raven drove in a pair of runs to help the Bulldogs beat the Blue Devils in Fairfield.

J.T. Nutting struck out five to earn the win. Cody Martin had two hits for Lawrence (4-11).

Michael Wong doubled for Lewiston (4-11).

MESSALONSKEE 11, MT. ARARAT 1, 6 innings: Messalonskee scored six runs in the fifth inning, and two more in the sixth to take the KVAC A game in Oakland.

Colby Dexter drove in a pair of runs for Messalonskee (13-2). Zach Mathieu and Kyle LaFreniere each singled and doubled in the win, while Sam Bell hit two singles for Messalonskee.

Nate Leslie had two hits for Mt. Ararat (1-14).

WATERVILLE 14, MCI 6: Ben Cox drove in four runs for Waterville in a KVAC B win in Pittsfield.

Cam Gardiner had three hits and drove in two runs for the Purple Panthers (10-4). Dan Pooler had a pair of hits for Waterville and scored three runs.

Austin Tolman, Parker Morrison and Mitchell Hallee each had two hits for MCI (3-11).

WATERVILLE 10, LEAVITT 0: Dalton Wood allowed four hits with four strikeouts and one walk to earn Waterville’s first shutout of the year in a win Tuesday over the Hornets.

Chay Phelps hit a pair of triples and scored twice for Waterville. Ben Cox hit two doubles and drove in a pair of runs, while Cam Gardiner doubled, singled and drove in two.

Leavitt is 5-8.

GIRLS LACROSSE

WINSLOW 13, LINCOLN 11: Cassidy Roderick and Mackenzie Winslow each scored four goals to help the Black Raiders take the KVAC B win on Tuesday.

Sabrina Jandreau scored three goals for Winslow (6-3). Harley Fitch made 15 saves in the win. Ashley Mason scored six goals for Lincoln (3-8).

BOYS LACROSSE

WINSLOW 10, ST. DOMINIC 5: David Selwood and Jacob Houghton each scored three goals to lead the Black Raiders to a win over the Saints in Winslow.

Andrew Beals scored two goals, while Jacob Larson and Jimmy Fowler each added a goal for Winslow (7-3).

Austin Roy scored three goals for St. Dom’s (5-6).

BRUNSWICK 17, MESSALONSKEE 13: The Eagles led 8-5 at halftime but could not hold on in a KVAC A loss to the Dragons in Brunswick.

Cam Glover poured in seven goals to pace Brunswick (11-0), while Kyle Woodruff had three goals and two assists.

Will Weeks and Austin Pelletier each had hat tricks for Messalonskee (6-4), while Elija Tuell made 15 saves in goal.
