The Maine Conservation Corps recently welcomed back Richard Van Twistern, of Winthrop. He is the son of David and Michele Van Twistern, also of Winthrop.
Van Twistern is a 2011 graduate of Winthrop High School and is expected to graduate from the University of Maine in 2016. Van Twistern previously served as an assistant team leader in 2014. He has joined as an AmeriCorps member for a term of national service on a Maine Conservation Corps Field Team, according to a news release from the corps.
The corps conducts conservation projects throughout the state of Maine, including extensive recreational trail construction and rehabilitation.
