WALES — Madeline Wood went 3-for-3 with a triple and also picked up the win in the circle as Madison edged Oak Hill, 6-5, in an MVC softball game played in Wales.
With the game tied 5-5, Madison (14-1) scored the winning run on a throwing error from the outfield in the top of the seventh inning. Wood also drove in a run for the Bulldogs. Kayla Veilleux led the Raiders (8-7) with a double and a triple and four RBIs.
MONMOUTH 13, WINTHROP 5: Tia Day, Haley Fletcher and Madi Neal drove in three runs apiece as Monmouth pulled away from Winthrop in MVC softball action.
Day led Monmouth’s 10-hit attack with three hits, while Fletcher and Neal contributed two apiece. Katie Canning and Em Chasse combined in the circle for the Mustangs (9-6) to allow two hits. Matti Rice had a double for the Ramblers (3-12).
GIRLS LACROSSE
MESSALONSKEE 14, CONY 4: Lydia Dexter scored four goals and Nathalie St. Pierre added three to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Augusta.
Sydni Collier made nine saves for Messalonskee (9-1). Elizabeth Dennison had 10 stops for Cony (0-10).
Rebecca Coniff led Cony with three goals.
